During the pandemic kids were unable to meet. As a result they may loose the most important skill – making friends. We took on a hard mission to help kids master the basics of friendship and to learn its principles.
What a coincidence, Hasbro introduced the new My Little Pony series in updated chibi-style. All plots became more simple and educative, so we thought that it is the best time to launch School of Friendship.
School of Friendship is a quest VK mini-app to show kids the principles of friendship and teach them how to make friends – in a virtual space, interactively.
Mechanics was simple and straightforward. User creates an avatar in the style of the new series and completes the storytelling quest at Ponyville famous locations. We showed kids various "friendship" situations where they had to make the choice to share something, cheer up, help etc. – role model was based on heroes characters.
On completion user got cute bonuses – diploma of friendly certification, personal cutie mark, custom status for VK and Pony AR mask. And, of course, we created a set of colorful stickers, so kids may easily communicate with their friends in VK.
