ORIGINS OF THE CONGREGATION
________

The Congregation of the Sisters of Social Welfare of St. Anthony was founded in Poland on December 8, 1933. Its founder is Mother Innocenta Catherine Rzadka. The goal of the new congregation was social and charitable work. The Founder's desire was the idea of bringing help to the poor, the abandoned, mothers of large families and the sick in their homes, that is - to serve Christ in human need.
ABOUT THE PATRON
ST. ANTONI OF PADVA
________

Saint Anthony of Padua, the patron saint of our congregation, was born around 1195 in Lisbon. At his baptism he was given the name Fernando. At a young age he entered the Order of Canons Regular of St. Augustine. This is how he received a solid education and was ordained a priest. Influenced by the news of the heroic death of Franciscan missionaries in North Africa, he moved to the Franciscans, where he took the name Anthony.
SKETCHES
________

The Design Brief sent to us included a request to pay special attention to the figure of St. Anthony of Padua during the design process.

It is noted that although the 21st century brings tremendous development of technology and the most diverse communication technologies, on the other hand, it is strongly associated with the deepening disappearance of human relations.

Thus, the task of the logo has become to arouse interest mainly in girls and women in the 15-35 age range. This interest is ultimately to be transformed into real benefits for ladies seeking life purpose and meaning.
FIRST PROPORSAL
________

Just not like from a grandma's picture.
How about an outline of a figure? It could be Anthony with baby Jesus on his arm, or with a lily or Scripture. These are attributes with which the Saint is recognized.

Our first proposal, although containing all the assumptions sent, was not to our liking because of the 'old-fashioned' character still presented.

HEART IDEA
________

We went back to reconsider our first idea of linking the figure of St. Anthony and the baby Jesus with the symbol of the heart, and it turned out to be a hit!

Final version of the logo of the Sisters of "Antoninek"
The final version of the logo of the Congregation of the Sisters of Social Welfare of St. Anthony combines two worlds.

The divine one associated with mercy and showing help in suffering with the modern one - which is an expression of new technologies in the service of neighbor.

"For the love of God in the service of neighbor to bring help in suffering".

They also ran a cheap kitchen for Poles in Wieluń. Already in 1945, the congregation and its activities developed. Bishop T. Kubina, evaluating all the work, approved the congregation under diocesan law on January 19, 1946. On February 2 of the same year, two postulants began the canonical novitiate. Mother Innocenta Rzadka headed the congregation until the end of her life in 1962. The congregation was elevated to the rank of an institute under papal law by Pope John Paul II on October 4, 1991.
Thank You!
