The Brief:
Since the downfall of the pandemic, the who’s and who’s of the world have been appealing people to do some basics things – wear a mask, wash your hands, maintain social distance; but to a great extent these appeals have been falling on deaf ears. The narrative so far has always been about safeguarding ‘yourself’, i.e. follow these basic guidelines and it is likely to keep ‘YOU’ safe from the virus. However, as stated above, various attitudinal and behavioural barriers exist that bridles people from adopting these basic safety measures. The narrative can be shifted a little, to focus not on their own safety, but on how THEY could be the very cause for people’s vulnerability, it could bring about a huge change in the very way that people look at the basic exercise of donning a mask. Thus, the need is to instil the thought that the mask is not a protective gear for their own benefit, but a fundamental obligation that they owe to their loved ones and society.
Key Message:
A mask is not a medium to protect you from the world; it is in fact a device that
protects your loved ones and the world from you.
