Tracking and Rotoscope

Rotoscoping and Tracking
I think this is more tracking then roto, but they go hand-in-hand sometimes. I reworked this 32-second shot to demonstrate how to get around this issue of having no corners for a corner pin. First the original clip was tracked then the transform, scale, rotation was applied to a roto node. Then the roto was drawn to supply an alpha channel for the TV screen, and I adjusted the points afterwards. Next Tracking information was applied to the screen element “Neal Armstrong’s famous small step”. Plus I added rotoscoped bar elements for a "reception" look, lines for interlacing, and a glass overlay for realism. All compositing done in Nuke. Clip from SCAD Graduate film “Lunativity” by Neil Short.
