Disappearing Vernacular Languages
Awareness Campaign Poster (A2)
December 2018

"Self-Initiated Project" done at the end of the semester in Srishti - Project based on research and developing a target audience's communication design. The Project involves a public awareness campaign in the form of interactive narrative posters to initiate local interaction between the young residents (who are unfamiliar with the language),
tourists (to initiate the spread of the language and avoid the gradual
disappearing of the Konkani language).

The three posters represent stories in three parts; the first part presents the Konkani language's disappearance, and the language seeks help! In the form of a sign, the written text with a large question mark questions the Konkani language's existence. It can be illuminated in English as a Universal language with a UV torch to understand what it wants to say. The second part represents the different Konkani language dialects to reach 2different people around it, asking for help! The illustrated poster is in the form of a rotational puzzle in which a sliced section of a word. The third part represents the culture of people.
