"from the road" is a series of photographs taken in Peru while travelling with the Imperial Toyota support team in the 2013 Dakar Rally. So many people came out to see the competitors driving their trucks, cars, buggies, quads and bikes through the small towns of Peru, and waves of happy faces would appear in blurs of excitement along the way to each section of the infamous Dakar Rally. A truly surreal experience.
The happiness of the locals a stark contrast against the eerie backdrop of decay and poverty.
