Wattpad's The Time Capsule Book Design
In 2019, Anvil Publishing partnered with Wattpad and launched their newest imprint called Bliss Books.
This imprint publishes stories written by Filipino authors whose works are posted on the Wattpad website. Since there are a lot of readers who wished to have a physical copy of their beloved stories to add to their collection, Bliss Books made their wishes come true!
This is one of the many published Bliss Books titles, J.D. Ruiz's (also known as GreenWriter), The Time Capsule.
I was tasked to design a book cover and layout the inside pages as well.
This book was sold internationally via online stores, Anvil Publishing website and physical store (National Book Store) nationwide.
Insides
This story is written in English. Bliss Books also caters to English titles such as this and PhenomenalPen's The Boyfriend App which was released in 2019.
The author specifically asked for a minimal design for her book. We want to build a creative collaboration with our authors and I encourage them to send me some inspirations for their book covers as it helps me get to know more about the book and their fans and the authors as well. Mood boards are essential when working on book covers. I personally like this creative relationship with the authors because I love it when they express their excitement and love for the final covers that I design for them.
Also, I want them to have a sense of complete ownership to their books.
Actual Product
As usual, we ask our printers to place Spot UVs or embossing to all our books to add to the reader's experience.
