Land and People: Burgersfort Ladies

At the entrance of the town of Burgersfort, Sekhukhune (Limpopo – South Africa) on the left a new mall is being built. On the right side a community of women work hard in heat cooking and then walk the streets of the town selling “corn”.  Recently they have been threats of removals by government saying that they are polluting the environment and they will be removed from there. Amidst the social challenges that the women are experiencing I witnessed love and hope for their children; the motivator behind the sweat and hard work they do. Because they wish a better life for them. They feed, clothes and take them to school by selling the “corn”.
