WRIST WATCH IS WRIST??

Wrist Watch Is Wrist?
The task was to create a photorealistic watch of my own choosing using adobe illustrator. I wanted to pick a watch that I would personally wear, because I felt that in picking something I liked would help me keep motivated. In doing this I picked a series of watched that stood out to me and I started sketching. After sketching I had a good look at all of them and narrowed it down to the watch that I picked for my project.

Here'e the watch I choose.
First attempt to bringing the watch to life
On my first draft I focus on getting the main shapes of the watch and placing them in the correct location. Once I felt like they were properly placed I started experimenting with effects and gradients. I wasn't very pleased with them so I went back to the drawing board and made some notes.
I starting writing down the changes I wanted to make and the details to apply. Once I knew what to changed I then asked how do I go about doing this. I used my resources by asking my peers and watching videos that other designers had produced.

Final Product
After applying the my notes and critiques, and repeating, I have finally came to my final product of my watch. This project before started I was told that this will make you see object differently, and I can not agree more. I know catch myself looking at my door handles analyzing the way the light hit it and how could I accomplish that look. At the start of this project I would fell frustrated at myself for being able to see things, but not understanding how to take what I saw and applying it. I made that my own personal goal to understand how to do just that, it did not come easy, but I feel that I know have that understanding, and I hope you all are able to see that through my watch.
Liked it with and without a drop shadow, so just for fun here it is with a drop shadow.
