Sweethearts Ball Club

These UNPRECEDENTED TIMES have made things a little sloooooow around here. You too? K, cool. Well instead of just sitting around on my Hillary Duff doing nothing (JKJKJKJKJK I’ve done a ton of nothing as of late), I decided to play one of my favorite games: I’m The Client Now, Yo. Here’s the brief I wrote myself.

Objective: Make that girly basketball club that’s been floating around in your noggin.
Deliverables: Apparel, patterns, draw on images you art direct with your pal Lauren Krysti, stickers, Nike AF1s duh, your favorite stuff.
Timeline: Six months but force yourself to do it in a week because you’re a knucklehead like that.
I like to start most projects by sketching on the floor on a 24"x18" piece of paper, it’s great for the neck and back! I go in collage-y, and then pull pieces out from there. Everything started very rough, but ultimately I wanted the finals to be more streamlined.
I love to hoard illustration elements, lay them all out and assess my bounty. I keep these little guys in my back pocket in order to slap them on my work like letter jacket patches. (Where do I collect my bonus points for staying on theme with my analogies?) Here are some patterns, doodles and my little mascot buddy, Sweetie.
My other love is to collaborate. Especially with my talented friend Lauren Krysti. She’s a way good fashion photographer who is always down for my nonsense. Here’s a bit of what we’ve made together.
So without more ado, I introduce to you The Sweethearts Ball Club. A candy-coated world of girl teams, hoop dreams and rainbow beams.
