Onciale & Textura, a project of calligraphy and book binding.
Set of two calligraphic books in uncial script and textura script, sizing is vertical A5, ten 16-pages booklets per book (160 pages in total per book), hardcover covered in fabric, handmade binding (coptic stitch).
The main inspirations were the same books realized at the time, but with a modern twist. The books are dedicated to the scripts themselves: they contains small information about usage, history and etimology of the scripts, alongside some quotes.
Coloring for the Uncial Book refers to clay, mud and all kind of earthy tones, obtained by mixing different inks (Ecoline).
The Textura Quadrata Book is inspired by the dark tones of Gothic Architecture with some vibrant colorings (as in famous polychromes rosettes).
