For this project we pulled our inspiration from ancient civilizations. I visited University of Penn Museum and found the Hopi civilization. The Hopi are located where the four corners of Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona meet. I researched about them and stumbled upon one of their folklore that described how the world worked. It talked about the four elements earth, air, fire and water. I used the blue fabric to represent water, the wood to represent earth, the open woven aspect as the air element, and I scorched piece of it to represent fire.
