CLO: Opera Poster Series

The Connecticut Lyric Opera needed a poster and accompanying playbill created for their Spring 2012 opera series. The three plays that were featured were Carmen, Don Giovanni, and Maria de Buenos Airies. The client specidfied that they wanted a unique solution. My solution emphasized types as image. I used the names of each opera’s main character to illustrate figures that represented the main concept of their respective operas. My solution for Carmen was a seductive woman. For Don Giovanni I illustrated a woman’s figure being engulfed in flames. My solution for Maria de Buenos Airies was an illustration a woman screaming up from the pits of hell.
