STREETS OF HONG KONG: NELSON STREET
Nelson Street is located in Mongkok on the Kowloon side of Hong Kong. The street is located between Ferry Street [below the West Kowloon Corridor overpass] in the West and stops at the Kowloon rail line in the East. This street is not continuous. It is broken up into several sections - namely by the Cordis Hotel at Reclamation Street and then, starts again on the East side of Nathan Road.
The section of interest here is the wet market selling fresh fish and seafood. This section is located between Ferry Street and Reclamation Street. It is a truly fascinating place. Over the years, I have spent hours here waiting and watching and doing what I enjoy doing most. Typically, the busiest times are in the evening. The market is open from around 10:00 AM and, usually, it is always busy.
