Global pandemic portraits
Following my #NickDrawsNeighbours project (drawing portraits of neighbours on my street in Brighton during the UK’s spring/summer 2020 Covid lockdown), in mid November 2020 I started drawing portraits of people in each country of the world, via Zoom, while talking about life during the global pandemic. Conversation is a key part of the project – we chat about life in general and the pandemic in particular as I draw, and I write stories about these meetings on Instagram (#NickDrawsNationals).
I’m raising money for Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) through the project, by asking my sitters for affordable donations.
