This lampshade was something I designed in December of 2019 after I was tasked to create a unique form of lighting using my cellphone as the source. I created this lamp using a concrete mold and optical fibers to distribute the light in a non-linear fashion. Fusing my knowledge of physics and optics along with my studies in the brutalist movement in architecture I created a lamp that isn’t the most practical in its current state, but when thought of in a much larger context can be a very effective and innovative way to light up a room.
