This small woodlands are just around the corner of our house in Upper Austria. They only consist of few trees and are rahter small but their diverse shapes fascinate me everytime I visit and I just found this places a few months ago. I visited them already through all seasons except for spring and it never disappoints with its appearance in those different circumstances.

The Quiet Place - Upper Austria, Muehlviertel 2020

On the last day of my stay in Upper Austria I went to another wood just around the corner. Its very convenient having the ability to look out the window and spot different small woods and how the conditions are in, around and above them - is there fog, is the sun slowly peeking through, is it raining? etc. Also this foggy conditions in the early morning, right before sunrise, create this diffuse and indirect light I like to have in my photos. On this morning there was absolutely no wind and the place you see here was totally quiet. So, you can call it paradise - at least for me.

As a huge Star Wars Fan “Clone Wars” was the first thought which came to my mind when seeing this army of trees! Also they have some kind of spooky appeal to me!

The bent shape of the trees give them a proud character, like they are trying to stand off against something. I also like the mix of seasons in this image, autumn on the floor, winter on the top.
