Development of a communication strategy for the recognition and conservation of endangered avifauna (birds) in the wetlands of Bogota, Colombia.
In terms of digital and multimedia design, the AveBo project aims to address the need for recognition and conservation of birdlife in Bogota's wetlands. Given the need for educational and attractive materials about these birds and their role in the ecological balance  of Bogota, a strategic product was created to promote their recognition and the importance of their conservation for the inhabitants of Santa Maria del Lago wetlands. To develop it, a mixed-method study is carried out including assessments by biologists, ecologists
and ornithologists, as well as the collection of quantitative and qualitative data related to the target audience.
The established methodology for the product development is Design Thinking combined with co-creation tools to establish a high degree of empathy with the participants involved. AveBo's prediction for the future is to explore all species registered in Bogota, so that Colombians and foreigners know more about its birdlife.

Research Document

Each illustration present in the guide has a unique QR code to show the bird in a 3D environment, which in addition to its image also reproduces the sound of the bird, achieving an audiovisual recognition through augmented reality (AR).

"Bogota is the capital city that has perhaps the largest number of birds recorded in the world. It’s estimated that there are around 160 species only there.”
