Art Start 2020: Comfort Zone
Grayscale sunny day. Leftovers merge with the cityscape. It is a constant process of ruin.
Artefacts that were meant to be instead become ornaments of debris. The state of decay
and the state of dereliction level each other, becoming a single idea, transforming into a single being. We turn our heads, we see through it. We restrict ourselves.
"Staykova’s installation involves an appropriation of Sofia’s urban exterior. Derbies, functionality,

Exhibited as part of Аrt Start 2020: Comfort Zone held at Goethe Institut & Credo Bonum, Sofia, Bulgaria between 07.02-01.03, 2020. Curators: Vessela Nozharova, Stefka Tsaneva & Lars Nordy.
The work is a mix media piece of two parts - a digital print mount on a plywood board (150x110cm) and concrete ornaments placed on plywood board (110x40cm).
