Indoor Air Quality Monitooring

This work describes an indoor air quality monitoring wireless sensor network system, developed using three sensors: gas and VOC sensor (BME680), CO2 sensor (EE893) and particulate matter sensor (YUNTONG YT-001) with Arduino MEGA as a sensor node. The system uses PSOC 6 microcontroller as a gateway. It uses ZIGBEE (XBEE pro S2B) for data transfer between nodes and gateway. Thingspeak free online cloud service is used to monitor data and send triggering signals. It facilitates storage and availability of monitored data on a local display in real time. It also controls the air flow using an actuator when the air quality degrades. The results reveal that the system can provide an effective indoor air quality assessment to prevent exposure risk and take necessary action.
