Design in the Extreme Conditions

This project is located in Faraya, Lebanon one of the coldest places in this country. The desired site is located near saint Charbel statue in Faraya. To reach the site from Beirut you need approximately about 2 hours. The concept of my design is Permeability, permeability is the measure of the flow of water between soil molecules. This makes me think of flow, attraction and fluidity. Flow is the flow of people in the symposium between the different elements in the site. These elements in the site attract these people just like soil attracts water by the grains. And fluidity is the ability of the site to be in motion using the movable platforms. Just like the sculptures in any symposium aren’t fixed and always are in motion, my project is also in motion due to the movable platforms. in any symposium the sculptures are not fixed, thus making the symposium interesting for every year. therefor my project is just like a huge sculpture. it can change its form at any time by using 2 cranes. these cranes can move these platforms within a radius of 30 meters. thus making the building alive and can be used in different ways.
