Unsubscribe Landing Page

Unsubscribe Landing Page Microcopy
For this project, I worked with the UX designers to create a simple ‘Unsubscribe’ landing page that will be viewed on desktop, mobile and tablet. This meant short and to the point copy, that keeps with the brand voice of confident, enthusiastic and most importantly supportive. The brief was as followed:

“When a customer hits the ‘unsubscribe’ link in one of our emails, we have one last chance to keep them on board. This has to be done on the unsubscribe page. We want to make this process as efficient as possible for them.”

I decided to write the copy in a way that didn’t guilt the customer too much, although we mention that we are sad that the customer is unsubscribing from our email service, we still value you them as a customer. My favourite part of this project was that I got to add “If you change your mind, we’ll be the first in line”, to the page after they hit ‘unsubscribe’, where we have one last chance to bring them back. This heading is a homage to my favourite band ABBA, and the song Take A Chance On Me. I wanted to add a bit of fun yet still be supportive, just as the lyrics to the song reflect. Their lyrics are as followed:

If you change your mind, (take a chance, take a chance…)
I’m the first in line
Honey I’m still free
Take a chance on me
If you need me, let me know, gonna be around
If you’ve got no place to go, if you’re feeling down
