I like to work out abstract shapes in stoneware. In the 'Collection Duality', the plastic aspect of the clay material predominates, which allows to experiment with asymmetrical, dualistic forms, which always generate tension in a fascinating interplay of lines of clay bands. Every abstract object is worked out until it reaches a sense of balance during the building process. Every dualistic piece of work (usually) comprises two surprising forms that always show new associations or contradictions. These shapes, made up of clay strips, are also always finished with self-developed glazes, sintering gobes (blown structure) and engobes.

My skills, my strengths
Working with clay for years has shown me the way which techniques fascinate me. I make use of numerous clay processing techniques that support the design of my workpieces: Construction work, cutting of clay plates, casting or pressing in self-developed molds, turning, working with self-developed porcelain material… My long-standing interest in glazing technology has already resulted in hundreds of clay tests. The results of these tests allow me to build on this and adjust my own icing recipes until the desired result is found.
