SF Transbay Terminal Construction- Tilt Shift Video

The Transbay Terminal was opened in 1939 for electric commuter trains that crossed over the Bay Bridge into San Francisco. Years later, it became a bus hub for AC Transit, SamTrans, Greyhound, Muni, WestCAT, and Golden Gate Transit.
The facility did not meet current or future transit operating needs or the growing commuter work force in the area. It was closed in August 2010 for demolition. Planning for a more sustainable future, the old terminal will be replaced with a new modern transit hub connecting eight Bay Area counties and the state of California. The new Transit Center will also include a rooftop park above the new terminal, to accommodate the people in the neighborhood and help create a mass transit culture.
