Excessive use of smartphones is not a new problem, but we still cannot overcome it. The devices are with us all the time and constantly require our attention. What’s more, the boundary between work and private life is blurring. Especially during this pandemic year when so many people had to work from home.The place where we should especially take a break from our everyday duties and relax in the bedroom. We know from studies that blue light from the screens is harmful to the eyes. In order to have a good sleep, we should stop using our smartphones for at least 30 minutes before going to bed. We usually can’t do that because the device is bothering us. The Troost bedside cabinet with its offline function is designed to help those who are tired of constant notifications. The small storage that’s located on the top surface of the furniture is equipped with an offline pocket. After inserting the smartphone the pocket blocks wifi and mobile signals. Thanks to this, it’s possible to fight smartphone addiction and learn new habits. Because it’s important to be able to switch off from time to time.
