As part of my research job at Carnegie Mellon's Human Computer Interaction Institute, I created some high-fidelity mockups of a website to share information about mobile app privacy. Building off of Bootstrap and using object oriented PHP, I created a website that displayed app information from a MySQL database.
Homepage of the website, with a large search bar to search for apps, and a gallery of some popular apps.
A mock up of a few ways to visualize app behavior information - by creating a sideways "tree" of the app's permissions, and by creatinga heatmap-like grid about what permissions are used by the app.
A mockup of representing an app's behaviors as a circle of permissions. Each color represents a different permission type that an app has access to.
Another mockup of another way to represent app behaviors. The dark purple means data is used by an app, the light purple means the data is used by a third party. Permissions/data types in beige are linked to ways the data are used (in purple). Each chord represents a type of behavior exhibited by the app.
