At the start of the pandemic, when webcam performances emerged, the company became interested in the means used in the sex industry to develop intimate connections through the camera between viewer and performer. We realized that several sex workers were already using various digital means to strengthen an intimate relationship at a distance, and have done so for several years. From there, we plunged into this universe mixing digital, social media, sex industry, artistic research and sanitary restrictions.
We set ourselves the goal of trying to see what strategies employed in this industry could be transferable to our field in order to create a strong, real, intimate and powerful relationship as well as a lasting bond with the spectators, and this, despite the distance.
