LA VICEVITA,TRENI E VIAGGI IN TRENO

The aim of this project is the realization of a "visual book": starting from an existing one — La vicevita, treni e viaggi in treno di Valerio Magrelli (Roma - Bari, Laterza 2009) — I tried to report the profound meaning of Magrelli's work into design choices wich could be useful to return the use of the book as an object that can amplify the reading experience, as well as giving new nuances of meaning.
La vicevita is a collection of small stories and the fil rouge that keeps everything together is the train travelling experience that the author describes as an existential condition called vicevita (vice, stands as deputy). It is a suspended dimension where the existence of the traveler is confined into a waiting condition.
These are the fundamentals in order to build a narrative made of poetic fragments and dreamy memories: moments that appear out of focus and elusive because they are impalpable like clouds. Nuanced moments of life, trapped in a casing made by expectation.
