Plastic waste is one the biggest environmental problems today. Due to the use of conventional plastics derived from synthetic polymers which are difficult to decomposed by living organisms. Biodegradable plastic known as bioplastic was produced  made from natural and environmentally friendly materials and now has begun to be developed. Biodegradable plastics made from gelatine  and agar are relatively easy to produce and the raw materials are more readily available. Agar and gelatine has a  potential as a raw material of biodegradable plastic because of the availability and characteristics. The tendency to introduce bio-generated products isn’t limited to design, and extends to the world of fashion, craft & textiles.
Inspired by fundamental geometric structure and patterns of growth in nature, concepts of symmetry and tessellations were explored in the creation of modular patterns and shapes into six different kind of bags. Utilizing knowledge of these geometric principles to support the creative process, a system of modular interlocking shapes was developed for practical application in fashion accessories.
