My first digital painting assignment was to recreate a painting from a historical master so I chose one of my all time favorites, the incomparable N.C. Wyeth. We were required to do an underpainting and to not trace. My professor gave this as example of a style that is less painterly and more like drawing with color, which gave me food for thought as I contemplated my style and future approach to paintings.
