Restaurant Menu & Expansion
For this project I explored typographic hierarchy and the use of the grid while working within constraints of typeface, size, and styles.
I was assigned menu text from Trumpet Blossom Cafe to manipulate during this project. I began by doing several hierarchy grid studies of the text to understand different grid layouts in Adobe InDesign.
Step 1: hierarchy grid studies
After completing hierarchy studies I researched the cuisine of my restaurant (vegan) to understand appropriate type, color, and visual style for my final menu layout. I compiled my research into a mood board.
Step 2: create mood boards based on research
I applied the knowledge I gained while researching to develop a final menu design for Trumpet Blossom Cafe.
Step 3: Final menu design
Brand Expansion
The secondary part of this project was to expand the brand that we had previously created from our menu. I created 3 icons, a vector pattern and a wordmark logo to enhance the original design of the menu. The objective of this project was to expand our practice with branding.
