“What good is sitting alone in your room?  Come hear the music play. Life is a Cabaret, old chum, come to the Cabaret.”  Truer words have never been sung. Except in 2020, the Cabaret is probably closed for curfew! So, instead of just “sitting alone in your room,” celebrate by breaking out the showtunes and SING!

CABARET TRIVIA -

• LIZA WITH A Z: Years before Liza Minelli played the role of Sally Bowles in 1972, she performed “Maybe This Time” when she appeared with her mom, Judy Garland, at the London Palladium.

• ON THE GREAT WHITE WAY: The 1966 musical with music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb, opened at the Broadhurst Theatre 54 years ago today!

• TONY AWARDS: What musical won the Tony Award in 1967 for Best New Musical? Why Cabaret, of course. Plus, Joel Grey, recreated his role in the movie version (1972) after winning the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical.
