Cuore Verde (Green Heart) is the marketing name for a wonderful region located between Lake Maggiore and Lake Orta in Northern Italy.
We at Maply are developing a mobile app that is targeted mostly to self-catering visitors and tourists. The app contains geo-located information about routes, points of interests, events, restaurants, hotels and more.
In developing the UI and the visual style for the app, I wanted to provide a window onto the region's beauty (hence the oval frames around the pics) and transmit the most striking features of Cuore Verde: breathtaking lake sceneries, emerald woods, eternal buildings from an ancient past, top-class contemporary art and trendy events.
The color scheme and the country-style finishings reflect these lines of reasoning.
For the 45° squared pattern, I took inspiration from work by Tomas Zeman. The double Path-like menu is aimed at providing frequent functionality (bottom left) and navigation (bottom right) without cluttering the views.
The app is being implemented in Sencha Touch.
