Riksrevisjonen Rapport

UI/UX
The Office of the Auditor General of Norway (OAG) is the largest and oldest control body in the Norwegian Parliament. Through auditing, monitoring, and guidance, the OAG reports to the Parliament how the Government and the state’s administration are doing their work.

After printing their reports for two centuries, the OAG was committed to providing an improved reading experience for all Norwegian citizens, enabling them to access complex data regardless of their ability. Content that was previously limited to those with special interest is now accessible to a larger audience, fostering a democratic space where more people can engage in the social debate. This transparency aligns with the idea of a universal design, a design for all.

Awards:
ADG Laus - Gold
ED Awards - Shortlist
AIAP Women Design Awards - Special mentions award
Visuelt - Nomination

The reports are targeted to a range of audiences: from citizens who want an overview of the insights, to other actors such as journalists and government officials who wish to delve deeper in the information.

Stepping aside from the OAG main site, the reports have their own design and navigation, enhancing the perception of a single publication. The new digital format improves the user experience through interactive elements and animations. An important aspect was to ensure good legibility and easy navigation to support the complex content. The readers' position in the document is made clear through visual cues, combined with global and contextual navigation. Visualisations of data in responsive graphs, infographics, and tables enrich the content and the reading experience.

The first digital report was delivered to the Norwegian Parliament in March 2019. The result is an interactive document that brings the best of the printed reports into a digital, sustainable format.
