BRIEF
A Biographic house is designed for Dilip Chabria (DC), a famous car designer in India. Incorporating curves signifying aerodynamics of cars, and combining it with multiple spacial qualities in a residential home.
INTENT
We were to design a vacation house for a famous personality, keeping in mind his identity, hobbies, and personality and design accordingly.
The site was located on the outskirts of the city with 7 existing palm trees, with the challenge of blending them within the design. I aimed to create a staggering house with multiple experiential spaces.
DESIGN
Linear shape to capture maximum wind, and to provide a maximum view to the sea, keeping the minimum area of the structure on the south.
Play of spaces, providing a drama of light, shadow, and experience for the user. As per the functions of the area, courtyards were added to create a stack effect. Curves added to the user’s identity, x-factor, and the flow of the structure.
