The Everlasting Supper

The Everlasting Supper
Final year project for my Post Graduate Diploma in Creative Technologies. As I moved to New Zealand from Sri Lanka, I missed my family too much that I decided to base my final project around them, as that would make me feel closer to them even though miles apart. Coming from a Christian background, God was always the head of the house and therefore, I decided to recreate the last supper of Jesus Christ but leaving Him in the centre of the table but replacing His disciples with my own family. Our family time mostly consist around the dinning table and therefore this felt most fit as a concept :)
Techniques Used:
Laser cutting on the MDF and Acrylics. Hand painted each acrylic and hand cut each foam board to the shape of the silhouettes. Used 6 acrylics and 3 boards of foam to bring depth and life to the project. Hand built the MDF box and spray painted white to cover the entire box and painted each element on the doors (elements represents my family members characteristics too)
Used sensor LED lights inside the box, so as the viewer opened the doors, the layers of acrylic and foam board would light up, sort of like a stage coming to live.
The Final light box, laser cut, sprayed and hand painted and finished.
The Project with the 6 layers of laser cut and hand painted acrylics and hand cut foam boards.
Business Card - The character being me from the everlasting supper and the cards consist of 3 different colors.
