The BHP mark was inspired by Ben's love for jazz, in particular by the rhythmic vertical stripes treatment in Freddie Hubbard's Hub-Tones and Miles Davis' Kind of Blue album visual approach. The font choice was influenced by the memorable Blue Note covers and typographic aesthetic of the time.
