New Yorker Cover

Background
This assignment was to create a magazine cover for The New Yorker dealing with something in New York City. New Yorker covers are always illustrated and never feature headlines, often making a social commentary. The concept for this cover was to show how crowded the New York subway cars are by illustrating one as a can of sardines. The reference came easily since both are tightly packed and metal; the roof became the top of the can and the passengers became fish.
