QI Elves Motion Graphics
The client, the QI Elves, instructed a team to develop animations for their Instagram facts. They are also wanting to develop an app which allows for a platform to voice a fact of the day or week and encourage interaction with its users on a day to day basis.
“There are more statues of lions in the world than there are real lions” I played with the concept of Medusa. I created a modern version of this outdated myth. The outdated method of turning any eyewitness to stone has been replaced with the camera. Placing it in the context of nature, it appears that the modern Medusa deals with the impact which humans have on nature and the simplicity of the camera flash (a man made invention) turns even the strongest of predators to stone.
“Due to continental drift, every GPS in Australia is off by five feet.” I have used the nature of Australian lingo and slang to emphasise the inaccuracy of the language by placing it in the presence of a GPS Sat Nav, where accuracy is vital. The consequences of five feet seem small however, with the vague directions from the Sat Nav, and the fact that the route is five feet inaccurate, the consequence is that the vehicle drives straight off the face of the map.
