Mnéme es una herramienta lúdica, motivacional y no farmacológica de estimulación cognitiva cuya función nace, de igual modo que su propuesta gráfica integral, de una necesidad personal: al diagnóstico de Demencia Vascular de mi padre. Una dolencia que afecta a la memoria, a la atención, al pensamiento, la emotividad y al comportamiento.
Así, adaptándose a los estímulos del paciente y dividiéndose en dos niveles de juego, Mnéme supone la creación de un tiempo, de un espacio y de unos medios (como por ejemplo, la generación de toda una nueva señalética aplicada a las 49 áreas de trabajo cognitivo) en el que el paciente, junto a su terapeuta o familiar, pase un momento entretenido, motivacional y divertido. Sobretodo eso, divertido. Y que, a la vez que juega y estimula su capacidad cognitiva, pueda lentificar la progresión de su enfermedad y mejorar, en suma, su bienestar y su calidad de vida. Y, por índole, el de sus familiares.
Mnéme is a recreational, motivational and non-pharmacological tool for cognitive stimulation whose function, like its integral graphic proposal, arises from a personal need: the diagnosis of my father's Vascular Dementia. That affects memory, attention, thought, emotion and behaviour.
