Mansplaining is, at its core, a very specific thing. It's what occurs when a man talks condescendingly to someone - incidentally almost always a woman - about something he has incomplete knowledge of, with the mistaken assumption that he knows more about it than the person he's talking to does (usually, it's the other way around).

This illustration was inspired by a poem by Wendy Cope, a contemporary english poet that I love very much for her dry wit, understanding of human nature and society. It was my submission for a contest on illustrations inspired by modern poetry. The poem was called Differences of opinion and boy it's difficult to understate how much that poem ring true for every woman on the internet.
