Andy Greenacre came to speak to us on a zoom call giving us a round down of how he got into the job role that he has, which is being the director of photography of the telegraph magazine.
He told us that he got into the job role simply by his passion for the craft which really is inspiring to hear. He gave us simple words of advice and easy plans of how to do a successful shoot on each one. always sketch out the ideas before the shoot, this allows us to previsualised the idea and stick to our original idea. As well as to reccies well in advance as well as back up locations to counter any problems we may collide with. He also said that with websites, they should be kept simple and plain with just images and the titles mainly because they want it to be easy when looking through your work, if it would be difficult and confusing and they could easily lose interest. The last major point he made was to always look for work experience and or internships as well as working for things like newspapers, magazines, museums etc. this will further our knowledge and get our name out across to more people.
