Studio Documentation Project

One of my personal side projects up until uni started was documenting the life inside a paint studio, and how it was kept alive during the peak times of the pandemic (lockdown).

I started working with Irving Ramó, who's a well known Ecuadorian muralist, painter and graphic designer. We worked together the first time when I was commissioned to shoot a campaign for a Vintage Reseller called Anaquel, and these people did a collaboration with Irving and asked me to shoot some pics of this collab.

These are some of them:
After this, we kept in touch and he asked if I had spare time to assist in his studio, doing mostly production work and graphic design, but even if it wasn't really photography related, it was well worth it as I learned a lot of the "important stuff" there.

After some time I proposed doing photographic work within the studio, creating content for social media as well as compilating some of his work and the general life within a studio that isn't a photographic one.

The challenge was that he had a very different approach to photography and post production, meaning he did not like the style I normally choose, so I had to post produce to fit an eye that wasn't mine.

This is some of the photographic work I did whilst I was there:
This long term project (I recorded the studio life for over 7 months) had an epic conclusion, ending in the first live expo after the pandemic in Quito, we were shut down because of all the people that came, and I also had the chance to cover the event doing photo and video, this are some of the expo photos:
