This project was a partnership with the Smithsonian National Zoo in DC and Jenna Frye's Epic Fail class at MICA. We were a collaborative group of 11 people of various disciplines, from graphic design to sculpture.

Our task was to design, manufacture, and assemble a toy for the Asian elephants at the National Zoo to help unite two contesting groups of elephants. We spent a significant amount of time researching elephant senses and what they find stimulating and entertaining. We found that elephants have an acute sense of touch and enjoy toppling things over. We developed a 'weeble-wobble' that was weighted at the bottom allowing for the top to be bumped around but ensuring that the toy remained upright.
