// studio 02a - sustainable urban communities - This project - MODULAR GARDENS - was based on the possibility of transforming the abandoned part of Dorcol, neighborhood that represents the oldest and the most prominent part of the city. The creative solution is based on making a new part for housing and conversion of the marina function, followed by the line park. The main motive of this project were arches and plants attached to them. The idea of co-living, urban gardening and co-working spaces, should provide future residents the feeling of being in nature, while living in the very center of metropolis. The project is adapted for all users, in accordance with their requirements, with the possibility of using several types of common areas - market, café, office space, garden, kindergarten and gym. It also included the conversion of the old power plant, which acquired a new cultural and artistic character, solution that offered new public space for the habitants, while at the same time focusing on the improvment of existing infrastructure.
