A narrative I concocted while completing this illustration:

After the Red Lectroid threat was diminished, Dr. Buckaroo Banzai attempts a second test run in the jet car through the 8th Dimension. During this ill-fated flight, Banzai finds himself stranded in-between realms face-to-face with Jareth the Goblin King whose portals traverse the same evil-ridden dimension the Lectroids travel. Seizing an opportunity, Jareth explodes through the momentary fissure left by the jet car. Buckaroo Banzai, now stranded in the stead of the Goblin King attempts to study the unending Labyrinth and find a means back to Earth.

Upon his arrival in the 3rd dimension, Jareth finds himself in front of Biff Tannen's, half-constructed Pleasure Paradise. The year is 1980, and Jareth senses a great evil to mold in this reality. As luck would have it, Doctor Emmett Brown spies Jareth's arrival. This inter-dimensional event spikes his interest in testing his old time flux theories. Over the next four years, Hill Valley falls into disarray. Jareth has siphoned the latent power of music to control the people of his new dominion, but he needs to enhance the scope of his musical reign. Jareth's pure form can not travel across dimensions, but his spirit can witness more to rule. He also sees Doc Brown attempting his time experiments and decides to allow the aging doctor to finalize his time machine. Maybe he can ride the doctor's coattails.

As his universe decays, Doc Brown hopes to travel across time and space to find people who might be able to curb the extra-dimensional threat of the Goblin King. He crafts a supplementary sensor for the flux capacitor to home in on individuals who have an uncanny connection to the time-stream. The first and strongest individual is Dr. Banzai stuck in the Labyrinth. Emmett Brown begins to formulate a plan. He must find this other expert and use his abilities of scientific deduction and rockin' musical ability to suppress Jareth's influence. However, Doc Brown can not read on his sensors that the very dimension that has trapped Banzai is Jareth's home world. Yet, the Doc knows the 8th Dimension is too difficult for one man to travel. Deciding to formulate a team of experts, Doc Brown takes the next four readings from the flux capacitor. They are as follows:

- Miyagi: martial arts expert and balanced negotiator with a caring heart

- Gracie Law: investigative reporter with a mind in sync with the spirit world

- Apollo Creed: boxing powerhouse with a pragmatic business sense

Doc must pluck these individuals from their respective worlds and times at the most inconspicuous moments. Still, he is not certain of how to navigate the infinite 8th Dimension. His sensor picks up another person from the home reality of Dr. Banzai. His entire world is ablaze with connections to the time-continuum. Of all the time beacons on Planet 10, a certain John Parker shines the brightest. After recruiting his crew, Doc Brown will take his new band to Planet 10 to find the Lectroid, John Parker, for his expertise on how to navigate spaces between worlds.

As Doc Brown plans, Jareth watches with every intent to follow him and conquer.
