Game Character Model/Rig- IG Droid

Still Model
This project was my first real introduction to character design during my studies at Anne Arundel Community College. In order to learn the process behind creating and animating characters for video games, we were tasked with building a simple robotic character model, setting it up with a basic rig, doing a few simple animations, and then putting it all together into a game engine to control its movement. I had a little bit of prior experience with character modeling (not much), so I decided to challenge myself with a more complex design, hence I chose to make a low poly version of an IG-series droid from Star Wars. It took a little work to make it look as accurate as possible- especially the head, but perhaps the most difficult part of the whole process was definitely the rigging. I probably redid the rig at least 3 or 4 times to make sure that all the pieces moved correctly, since I also wanted the model's upper body to spin around, and have its eyes swivel independently much like an actual IG droid.
