PARASEAT

What is a paraseat?

A paraseat is the urban chair for the third generation city. Rather than isolated elements, they defined an urban network where different situations create an urban choreography in the community.

Where are the paraseats located?

Paraseats can be everywhere. The community discuss and choses the location according to their needs and wishes.

The flexibility of the system gives it the characteristics of variability, being non-sensitive to modifications, readiness and capacity for compatibility with different purposes and adaptability to the different conditions of the urban geography we live in.

It is aesthetically opened, reflexive, promoting an active participation and, formally speaking, a system of devices able to elaborate and negotiate solutions rather than drawing specific plans. Because of this the paraseats can be efficiently corrected through basic changes in user´s activity patterns just by simple structural changes or migrate to another location redefining its structure.

How does a paraseat look like?

The paraseat can look like you want it to look. Like the human body, the paraseat has:

A skeleton, based on a tetrahedral geometry defined by one-size bars and nodes connecting them. This one acts as the link between the paraseat and the specific location in the city where it is.

And the flesh, attached to the primary structure that is defined by the way it can be used in each particular case. Its materials, colors and textures responds to the local conditions linking the paraseat with the identity of the community and reinforcing it.
