Immerse yourself in what you do. We usually stand outside of what we are doing and look inward. Separate and analytical. With the distance between what we do and ourselves. Imagine that you are the subject of research on your project. Be a subject from the inside out.
Rod Judkins

With the "Valerija as a Space Unit" artwork, in the form of a visual monologue, I contemplate my physical, mental and emotional states, by displaying them through the coexistence and struggle of four different Valerijas. Behind every spy hole is a single living area where a single Valerija resides and behaves according to the environment of the room, reflecting, thus, one of her character traits. With the main Valerija, the one that occupies a single room, Valerijas from different rooms (videos) occasionally interact while trying to distract her during her current activity, disrupt her plans, or impose their attitudes. In other words, to correct her"flaws". Although they are thematically and visually connected, every video can function independently, but as a composition of all four as well – the performance that is simultaneously occurring, offers to the observer the possibility of "capturing" the entire plot by circumambulating the object and observe the video-content behind every spy hole. In the times we live in, when the virtual increasingly replaces the real, when distance is becoming an imperative, and living space is progressively narrowed down to one four walls, I am trying to deeply penetrate the core of my Being, get to know all of my faces and learn how to live with them accordingly.
