As an inspiration, she brought along with her a piece given to her by her mother. We talked and discussed color palettes, fabric, explored a few motif ideas having different elements of the piece. The discussion that lasted more than an hour, helped me zero in on the Marigold Flower motif or ‘GENDHAI’, in Assamese, which also happens to be mother’s favorite flower and hence the name of this collection. Eri, being the most light and breathable, was her first choice of fabric.
